Corsicana — The 63rd Annual National Day of Prayer will be held on Thursday, May 1 with the theme “One Voice United in Prayer.” Activities will include a free breakfast at First Baptist Church at 6:30 a.m., followed by a 12-hour prayer vigil at the Navarro County Courthouse from 7 a.m. To 7 p.m. With 24 different churches taking 30 minute segments to pray. The general public is welcome at any time to join in prayer. A table will be set up by the Jose Antonio Navarro statue on the south side of the courthouse where prayer guides will be distributed to anyone who desires to participate. Prayer warriors do not have to come at the specific appointed time of their home church. The final event of the day will be a special prayer service sponsored by the Corsicana Ministerial Alliance and the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance at 7:14 p.m. (2nd Chronicles 7:14) at St. Luke Methodist Church, 2308 Bowie. Harmony Baptist Church, 400 East 12th Avenue, Corsicana where Bishop John Baker is pastor, will have its Sanctuary Choir Annual on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 3:30 p.m.  Bishop Robert Davis and Emmanuels Upper Room COGIC of Texas, Reagor Springs, will be our guests.  Please join us as we lift up the name Jesus.   Sis. Annie Solomon is president of Sanctuary Choir and Minister Chasity Portis is president of Voices of Deliverance  and youth choirs as well as director for all choirs. Musicians are Sis. Jewell Gooden, Bro. Patrick Colbert and Bro. Christopher Meankins.

Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance will hold its Fourth Sunday night service at the New Cornerstone Missionary Baptist, Pastor Donnie Watson Host at 1808 West 10th Avenue. Speaker for the evening service will be Pastor Dairy G. Johnson, Sr., Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. Service will begin at 7 p.m. The public is invited to come. Participants in the MLK Choir are asked to sing on Saturday morning downtown from 11 a.m. To 12:30 p.m. If at all possible for Derrick Days gospel stage.
