Special to the Corsicana Daily Sun
Downtown Corsicana will host one of its most popular annual events Wednesday, with ghouls, goblins and glitz showing up for the Downtown Trick-or-Treat. The fun begins at 3 p.m. with games and treats on the sidewalk in front of Grace Community Church, 227 N. Beaton Street, hosted by Corsicana Main Street. The church will also operate a barrel train and bounce house on the Fourth Avenue side.
Corsicana Parks & Recreation’s “Beaton Street Boo Ride” picks up and drops off on Fifth Avenue, at the corner of Beaton. Pocket Park will be the scene of professional photo sessions with Memories by Melissa. Two 4x6 inch prints are available for $15. A variety of bounce houses and slides will be set up on Beaton Street in front of Pocket Park.
Collin Street at Beaton will be the site of a costume contest, sponsored by Wally’s Party Factory, beginning at 4 p.m. Nearby, Shall We Dance Studio will offer fun dance demonstrations at 106 W. 6th Avenue. Main Street’s Great Pumpkin Patch at the Visitor Center will be open until 6 p.m.
Participating downtown businesses displaying “Trick-or-Treat Here” signs will offer goodie giveaways for the kids. Many will have special holiday products available for early gift shopping.
Afternoon street closures will include Beaton between Fifth Avenue and the Chase Bank drive-through, Fourth Avenue east of Beaton and Collin Street west of Beaton.
