Jim Collins scholarships awarded to 47 CHS graduates

Corsicana — As Corsicana High School seniors prepare for graduation in two weeks, celebrations have been plenty.

This week, 47 Corsicana High School seniors found another reason to celebrate success — they were named Collins Scholarship recipients.

The prestigious, four-year Jim Collins collegiate scholarship is awarded annually to CHS graduates who are outstanding students, exhibit excellent citizenship, and are proven scholastic leaders.

Forty-seven students in the 2013 Class will receive a combined total of $864,000.   

The Collins Scholarship, now celebrating its 60th year anniversary, has awarded over $13 million to college bound graduates from Corsicana High School since 1953.
