Blooming Grove science team takes first at UIL

Corsicana —

Blooming Grove's science team came in first place at the UIL Academic meet for Conference 2A, District 14. The meet took place at Buffalo High School.

The team consists of Annah Kirk, Mica Haney, Colton Couch, and alternate Allison Gutierrez.

Annah Kirk also took first in chemistry, and Mica Haney took second in the individual science competition.

Blooming Grove students also took fourth place in One-Act Play last week.

Individual Blooming Grove students took the following places in these competitions:

Computer Applications: Fourth place, Sky Blades, fifth place, Tamia Smith.

Number Sense: Third place, Colton Couch.

Ready Writing, Second place, Stacy Carroll, Fifth place, Morgan Adams.

Science, First place, Annah Kirk; and second place, Mica Haney.

Spelling: Fourth place, Emily January.

The following students will advance to regionals, which will take place May 3 at Tarleton State University in Stephenville: Couch, Carroll, Kirk, Haney, and the science team.
