Corsicana — Petty's Chapel Baptist Church and Pastor Elvin Sikes invites you to join us for Worship this Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. We also have a second Worship Service at 11 a.m. We meet on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.  We are having a series titled, “Exploring The Bible.”  The series is an overview study of the Pentateuch. The Pentateuch consists of the first five books of the Bible. In the trying times that we live in, it is of upmost importance that individuals as well as families know the Word of God.  We are a Church that is focused upon ministry to the entire family.  We are located on old Roane Road a half mile east of I-45, 1300 FM 3041. NOW Faith Miracle Center, 301 Margaret Drive, Kerens, will hold a Night of Celebration at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013. The theme is “Communion with The King.” Formal/semi-formal attire.  Lone Star Cowboy Church of Navarro County, located at 4495 W. State Hwy. 22, invites all to join us for our Sunday Church Service starting at 10 a.m. We have nursery for babies through age 2 years and activities for 3 and 4 year olds. Children ages 5 through 12 are invited to meet in the children's building for Children's Church. Northside Baptist Church “Surviving the Holidays” will begin Nov. 13 on Wednesdays from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Northside Baptist Church Parlor. (Enter the parking lot behind the church in front of the new fellowship hall. Someone will direct you to the Parlor.)     The City of Corsicana has notified Navarro County officials it is cancelling its agreement with the county to provide EMS ambulance service to areas outside the city limits. According to a letter sent to county officials by Corsicana Mayor Chuck McClanahan, ambulance service to county residents will end on Jan. 31, 2015.

    The project to rebuild Seventh Avenue or Highway 31 as it goes through Corsicana is almost over. From an uneven patchwork of paving and pitted concrete, now it’s a smooth ride from Beaton all the way through town.
    It just took an extra year to finish.

    An attempt to bootleg electricity off a pole using jumper cables is believed to have caused a building fire that took out a former restaurant in Angus Friday morning, one of a series of calls to Navarro County Sheriff’s Office to the southern end of the county over the weekend.
