Corsicana — Aug. 1

Blooming Grove Crime Watch will meet at 7 p.m. at the Blooming Grove Historical Society building, across from Blooming Grove City Hall. Guest speaker will be County Judge H.M. Davenport Jr. Everyone is welcome to attend.

A one day Driver Safety Program will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Navarro County Regional Hospital located at 3210 W Highway 22 in Corsicana. The refresher course is designed for drivers 50 years of age and older, but is open to anyone. The cost of the course is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non members. Attendees may qualify for reductions in automobile insurance premiums for three years upon completion of the course.for more information call (903) 654-6892.

Aug. 2

VFW will host Country Sue Karaoke from 8 p.m. to 12 midnight. Come out and meet friends and enjoy a fun evening.

Aug. 3

 The American Legion, Post 22, 632 N. The VFW at 100 Veterans Drive (off W. Hwy 31) will hold a garage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Too much stuff to list.

Aug. 5

Piecemakers Quilt Guild will meet at the Westhill Church of Christ for refreshments and gossip from 9:30 a.m. til 10 a.m. After a short business meeting Sue Gorman will present a program and trunk show of her quilting projects. This will be a "pot-luck-lunch" meeting so bring your favorite dish and do with us what we do best.  Eat! We have some wonderful cooks and some fantastic quilters. We do share recipes and we do help beginners.  All "seasoned" quilters and "wanna-be" quilters are invited.  For more info call Jan Libal (903) 874-0831.
