A Corsicana woman remained hospitalized Wednesday after suffering serious injuries when the utility vehicle she was riding was hit by a passenger car on FM 1126.
The incident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday on FM 1126 near Emhouse in the vicinity of NWCR 0060.
Sgt. Thomas Moore of the Texas Department of Public Safety office in Corsicana said Robinelle Williams, 50, was driving a utility vehicle or “ATV” along FM 1126 Tuesday night, and was struck from behind by a 2002 Volkswagen Bug driven by Daniel Peddicord, 40, of Barry.
Moore said darkness was a factor in the accident.
Williams was taken by air ambulance to Baylor Hospital for treatment of incapacitating injuries, Moore said. Her condition wasn’t immediately available at press time Wednesday.
Navarro County Sheriff’s deputies assisted the Department of Public Safety at the crash site Tuesday.
The crash is being investigated by Trooper Chris Williamson.
Moore said the investigation into the incident is continuing.
