• Two dogs were taken Friday from the 1100 block of South Seventh St.

• Counterfeit money was intercepted Friday morning at the Wendy’s, 2900 S. U.S. 287.

• A woman reported that her iPad was stolen Saturday afternoon while she was eating a late lunch at Applebee’s, 1901 S. Interstate 45.

• A shoplifter was reported at 3:25 p.m. Friday at the Walmart, 3801 W. Highway 22. A woman was arrested for shoplifting around 4 a.m. Sunday at the Walmart. She had tried to hide the items in her purse.

• A man reported that he was assaulted around 1:30 a.m. Saturday while he was visiting a friend’s home in the 900 block of East First. He claimed he didn’t know his assailant.

• A man responding to an ad about a dog for sale thinks he might have gotten scammed. He reported the incident Saturday.

• A man reported that he was walking down the street around 4 p.m. Friday when he was jumped by several Hispanic males who stole his cell phone in the 800 block of West Ninth Ave.

• A man tried to run from police around 6:20 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of East First Ave., after they caught him with drug paraphernalia.

• Two men were arrested for public intoxication around 4 a.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of East Sixth Avenue.

• A vehicle was stolen sometime between 10 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 a.m. Sunday from the 600 block of South 18th and 1/2 St.

• A welder was stolen from the bed of a pickup was stolen sometime between 9 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday from where it was parked in the 600 block of West 13th Ave.

• A home was burglarized Monday or Tuesday in the 1500 block of G.W. Jackson Ave.

• Person arrested for cussing around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 1900 block of MLK Boulevard.



Navarro County Sheriff’s Office

• A dog kennel with four panels of cyclone fencing worth $300 was stolen Tuesday from a farm on FM 709 near Dawson.

• A power Boss generator worth $400 was stolen Tuesday from SWCR 1150 near Corsicana.

• Twenty or 30 chickens and five or six cats were reported missing Tuesday from FM 744 near Emmett. No value was placed on the chickens or cats.

• Thieves took a Taurus 9mm pistol with magazine, assorted jewelry worth about $700, and a change jar worth $70 and change inside the jar worth about $30 Tuesday from a home on NWCR 3170 near Dawson.

• A reckless driver in a 1993 Lincoln Town Car was stopped on southbound I-45 near Rice at 7 p.m. Saturday. The driver was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

• A man reported that he was grazed by a bullet at 5:44 a.m. Sunday when his car was shot in Rice. The man explained that he’d been to a party on NWCR 0180 near Rice at which there were about 60 guests. The man said that the party broke up with someone began firing a gun. The victim said he got into his 2005 Cadillac CTS and was leaving the scene when he realized his car had been struck. The bullet went through the license tag and into the passenger section of the car. The man said that although he was grazed, he didn’t require medical attention.

• A patrolling deputy stopped a man at 2:48 a.m. Sunday walking along the road around North Senter and Northeast Third in Kerens who appeared to be intoxicated. When the officer was about to cuff the man, the man took off and ran towards Mac’s Motel, where he disappeared again. Several other officers responded, but they didn’t find him immediately. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

• A 5075 John Deere tractor with a front-end bucket worth $18,500, and a John Deere mower worth $6,500 were both stolen Saturday from South Highway 309 near Kerens.

• A black mailbox worth $125 was destroyed Sunday afternoon on NWCR 2161 near Barry.

• A blue bicycle with a party horn and bulldog sticker on it worth $35 was stolen Saturday morning from Gray Lane in Kerens.

• The driver of an 18-wheeler reported that someone dropped a block or something off an overpass around 4 a.m. Aug. 7 at Highway 14 and Interstate 45 near Richland. The block put a hole in the hood of his truck.

• Two cousins got into a fight around 5:30 a.m. Aug. 5 on NWCR 2091 near the Walmart. Both men were arrested for assault.
