July 13

City of Corsicana presents “Acoustic Wine Down” in its Second Saturday event series from 4-8 p.m. Activities normally held at Third Ave. and Main St. will be moved to Pocket Park, 118 N. Beaton. Wine tastings will be offered from 4-7 p.m. at the following downtown businesses: Bittersweet Boutique, Canterbury Court, Canterbury Couture, Grave Creek Mercantile, Harvie’s, Luci Blu’s, Merchant’s Antiques, Turquoise Pistol, and The Vintage Farmhouse. The Art Walk (also from 4-7 p.m.) includes the Warehouse Living Arts Center Gallery and “The Gallery” at Downtown Salon and Spa. Enjoy live acoustic music by Curlyhead and also by Three Fools on Three Stools beginning at 6 p.m. at Pocket Park. There will be a free water slide for the kids located behind Pocket Park off Fifth Avenue between Beaton St. and  Main St. There will be no outdoor vendors this month. Angels of Corsicana Troop Support will meet at 9 a.m. at 1020 N. Bus. 45. All ages are welcome to come pack. If anyone has a loved one serving in harm’s way, please bring their address to the packing so we can send a gift box to them. We are asking for donations of one pound cans of coffee, bug repellant wipes, and travel toothbrushes and toothpaste. These have been requested by our military. The Coyote Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force meets at the Tucker Hardgrave Memorial Hangar at the South end of C. David Campbell Field, the Corsicana Municipal Airport.  There will be a staff meeting at 10 a.m. with the general meeting to follow at 10:30 a.m.  Prospective members and the public are invited to attend the general meeting.



The Shakers and Scrapers Car Club will hold its monthly Cruise In at the H & R Block Parking lot on W. Seventh Ave. The cruise will begin at 6 p.m. so bring your hot rod, muscle car, sports car, motorcycle, project, or anything that rolls. Even if you’re not showing a vehicle come by and take a look at all the cool cars and bikes. Be sure to bring your camera and have a great time looking at all the cool vehicles. Area farmers and ranchers are invited to attend The Texas Grazingland Conference at the Raddison Hotel in Fossil Creek July 15 to July 17. Nationally acclaimed speakers including Dr. Temple Grandin will be a part of the conference. The Navarro Council of the arts presents "With Six You Get Eggrolls" a Fine Art Exhibit featuring the works of Helen Albritton, Barbara Jones, Gladys Espenson, Deb Miller, Stephanie Ford, and Margie Taylor at the Warehouse Gallery from May 15 to July.  Exhibit is free and open to the public daily.



July 18-21, 23, 25-27

The Warehouse Living Arts Center production of “Moon over Buffalo,” Ken Ludwig's hysterically funny comedy, is guaranteed to keep audiences laughing. Veteran WLAC actor Gary Douglas will lead the cast of talented actors: Carlie Gehle, Sharon Goodman, C. David Hill, Randy Jones, Noah McBryde, Angel Sims and Rachel Williams. Sandra McClure Mahood is directing. The evening performances on July 18 to 20, 23, and 25 to 27 will begin at 7:30 p.m. The matinee on Sunday, July 21 will begin at 2 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the WLAC box office located at 119 W Sixth Avenue in downtown Corsicana or may be purchased online at www.warehouselivingartscenter.com. July 19

The closing concert of the 17th annual session of the Texas Southern Gospel School of Music will begin at 7 p.m. at Second Avenue Baptist Church. Come and be our guest for a wonderful evening of Southern Gospel Music at its best. There is no admission chare, and the public is invited to attend.



July 20

Bazette Prairie Point Annual Picnic will be held at 8 a.m. at the cemetery. Bring a covered dish, lawn chairs, and enjoy the day visiting with family and friends. Lunch will be served at noon.



Back to School Rally held by Mystic Rose Social Service Inc., 508 N. Main St., Corsicana. This inaugural rally will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and everyone is welcome to bring the entire family, school supplies will be given away.  



July 21

Warehouse Living Arts Center and Members of the 14th Annual Theatre Camp will present “Play in the Parking Lot” on Friday, July 21 at 7 p.m. Grades third through fifth will present The Bremen Town Musicians. Grades six and up will present Wiley And The Hairy Man. Campers are attending camp all week rehearsing the shows and creating the sets. C. David Hill is directing and Tabitha WIlkes is the scenic designer. “Play in the Parking Lot” is free and everyone is invited to attend. Bring your lawn chairs. The WLAC is located at 119 W. Sixth Avenue in downtown Corsicana. The parking lot is located between Main and Beaton directly across the street from the Palace Theatre.



July 27

The American Legion Post 22, 632 N. Blooming Grove Crime Watch will meet at 7 p.m. at the Blooming Grove Volunteer Fire Department. The speaker is to be announced.

City of Corsicana presents “Island Time” in its Second Saturday event series from 4 to 9 p.m. in downtown Corsicana. Activities include limbo and hula hoop contests and water slide. Aug. 13

The Corsicana Emergency Corps., located at 416 South 12th Street in Corsicana, will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 7 p.m.  The general public is invited to attend.  Monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.  For further information, please call (903) 872-5072.



Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. at the Sirloin Stockade, 2508 West 7th Ave, Corsicana. Membership is open to U.S. armed forces veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) in the Republic of Vietnam between Feb. 28,1961 and May 7,1975, or in ANY duty location between Aug. 5,1964 and May 7,1975. The veteran must submit a copy of his/her DD Form 214 along with the application and dues. Members and guest are invited to come early and eat and visit prior to the meeting.
