Corsicana — In celebration of Charles Dickens’ 200th birthday, the Warehouse Living Arts Children’s Company will present “A Christmas Carol” to open at 7 p.m. Wednesday, also with 7 p.m. shows Thursday and Friday, and run through the weekend with Saturday and Sunday matinee performances at 2:30 p.m. To inquire about tickets, contact the WLAC box office at (903) 872-5421.

The large cast is comprised of several families, and marks the return to the WLAC stage by Alan Barnes, a Warehouse veteran, who is perfectly cast as Scrooge.

The heart-warming Christmas tale set in Victorian England will appeal to all ages. Very capably directed by David Hill and James M. Pritchett, the show required seven costume people, six prop volunteers, and three light and sound people.

Not to be overlooked is the fact “A Christmas Carol” was being rehearsed and staged at the same time the WLAC was putting together its giant show of the season, “Mame,” which ran mid-November.

Kevin Painter further hones his acting talent as Marley, Katherine Keathley shines as the Ghost of Christmas Past, and Sandra McClure Mahood is regal in the role of Ghost of Christmas Present.

The cast: Alan Barnes, Kevin Painter, Steve Keathley, Tiffany Morgan, Chris Johnson, Kati Haffner, Jade High, Tony Watson, Angel Sims, Katherine Keathley, Sandra McClure Mahood, Anna Massarelli, Luke Keathley, Catherine Monk, Sean Morgan, Ashley Scholten, Ethan Andrew Medina, Jack Allen, Dalton Stewart and Jared Morgan. Also playing are Annot Walthall, Adam Walthall, Abigail Walthall, Irvin Horn, Chelsea Sanchez, Kayla Rozelle, Hannah Carlisle, Brandon Carlisle, Kendal Ephlin, Denham Hunt, Nathan Wilkes, Addison Sims, Ashley Walter, Alison and Ethan Williams, Claire Haden, Bree Ann Mixon, Mariah Parker, Miles Parker, Emily Watson, Katie Wigginton and Callie Wilkes.
