Corsicana — Freedom Fellowship Church celebrated its annual Royal Family Fashion and Talent Show. Winners were Pastor Jessie R. William, Mother Lucy Irvin was crowned Ms. Freedom Fellowship. Other winners were Imani Brandon, Sweetheart; Joshua Harris, King; TreAnah Coppock, Queen; and Isaiah Williams, Duke and Leilani Standford, Duchess. All proceeds are for the church building fund.



First Baptist Church Corsicana will host The PraiSingers from Travis Avenue Baptist Church, Fort Worth, a senior adult choir in concert at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at 510 W. Collin St. The concert is free and open to the public. The 150 voice choir sings a variety of traditional and gospel music, and ends with a musical salute to our Armed Forces.  The choir makes about 15 appearances a year for association and state events, retirement communities and churches.

Harmony Baptist Church, 400 East 12th Ave., Corsicana will celebrate Old-Timers Day along with its 105th Church Anniversary on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014.   At the 11:30 a.m. hour, the church will hold regular morning worship service.  At 3:30 p.m., Ennis Mt. Zion Church, where Elder Larry Rhone is overseer, will be the special guests. The members are asked to dress in old-time attire all day. Come and join us for a wonderful worship experience as we honor the Lord for all that He has done and is doing in our midst right now. Dinner will be served after the morning service and carryout dinners will be available for guests after the evening service. Bishop John Baker is pastor and Minister Vanessa Baker is First Lady.



First Baptist Church of Mertens will have a service to celebrate the final Sunday in its present sanctuary at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23. The building was constructed in 1924 and will be removed to allow for the building of a new sanctuary. Refreshments will follow the service. All are welcome to attend.



Trinity Assembly of God, Hwy 31 and Corbet Road, will host a Gospel Sing-A-Long from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28. Open Mic, free admission, Live Band. Come have fun with us, fellowship and have a good time. For more information call (903) 875-5950.



Bethel AME Church are pleased to announce that the 11 a.m. service on Sunday, Feb. 23 is Youth Sunday featuring the annual Black History Program with full participation of the youth and members. Sis. Lizzie O’Neal is the coordinator. Pastor Willie L. Greene Sr. and the Gospel Choir will be the special guest on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. at Joshua Chapel AME Church in Waxahachie where Rev. Samuel Baker is the pastor. Preparations are being made for the Women’s Missionary Society (WMS) fifth Sunday program recognizing the “Men of Bethel” as Kinds for a day at 11 a.m. March 30, 2014.

The Cowboy Church of Corsicana located at 5864 W. Hwy 31 (two miles west of Walmart) would like to invite you to its Sunday morning worship service at 10 a.m. and also to its weekly Bible Study held on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. at the church. Special music is provided each week by the CCC band. Presently, the church is in the process of enlarging to accommodate the rapid growth. Last Sunday,  Feb. 16, The Cowboy Church of Corsicana celebrated its third anniversary since its beginning in February 2011. The Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 409 N. Third St., Corsicana, Dairy G. Grace Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church, 402 East 14th Avenue, Corsicana invites the public to join them in celebrating their Women's Day Annual, Sunday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. The theme for this event is “And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.” (Revelation 12:14). The Love Chapel Church Family will have a service of honor and recognition to their Pastor David E. Wilson at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014. Pastor Wilson is a Man of God that teaches and preaches the Word of God with exuberance and power and has a great love for God and the people of God. Intercessors for Navarro County Men’s Prayer Breakfast will meet at Navarro College at Lone Star Room in the cafeteria at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday mornings. Lone Star Cowboy Church of Navarro County, located at 4495 W. State Hwy. 22, invites all to join us for our Sunday Church Service starting at 10 a.m. We have nursery for babies through age 2 years and activities for 3 and 4 year olds.  Northside Baptist Church offers Grief Share, a special weekly seminar and support group for people who are grieving the death of someone close. Grief Share is non-denominational and features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. A 13-week course begins Wednesday, Jan. 15 at Northside Baptist Church. The meeting will be in the white house across the street from Northside, 222 Forest Lane  beginning at 6 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m. You will have the opportunity to interact with others who have experienced a loss, learn from their experiences and share your own.
