Corsicana — First United Methodist Church, 320 N. 15th Street, presents Screen on the Green. Join us Friday, June 14 for an evening of outdoor fun for all ages! The activities start at 7:30 p.m. with a rock climbing inflatable and a bounce house for the younger children. Come with your family and friends to enjoy free popcorn and snow cones before the movie begins at dusk. New Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, 1808 West 10th Avenue, and Rev. D. R. Watson are proud to announce  and cordially invite the public to help celebrate the Sixth Appreciation Service of its assistant pastor and wife, Rev. and Sis. M. L. Green on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. Special guest church will be the New Bethel Baptist Church of Goodlow, Rev. E. Betts, pastor; as well as other churches on the program. Mistress of ceremony will be Sis. Lois Ballard, welcome by Sis. JoAnn Green. Rev. Green has been a member of New Cornerstone since it was organized in 2001, and received his calling to the ministry not long after that and has been on an uphill journey since then. He has been diligent in his ministry in the church, as a father, and as a husband. Rev. Green served in the capacity of assistant pastor to Pastor Watson for the past eight years. He and his lovely and dedicated wife Trina serve in whatever capacity they are needed, singing in the choir and acting president of the choir respectively. Come join us as we show appreciation to these two young servants of God, on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 3:30 p.m.

Open Door COGIC, 1201 E. Eighth, Corsicana will host a Revival June 12-14 at 7:30 p.m. nightly with Pastor Myron Williams of Abundant Faith Ministries in Malakoff as the guest speaker. On Sunday, June 16 at 11 a.m. a program titled “Will the Real Man Please Stand?” will be presented, and you are invited to take part. Mildred Independent School District board members approved the 31-year-old Corsicana native as the high school’s new principal Monday night.
