Community Expo set to go Saturday

Corsicana — The Cook Center at Navarro College is playing host to the Community Expo and Taste of Navarro County Saturday, with over 50 small businesses scheduled to be on hand. The Corsicana & Navarro County Chamber of Commerce and the Small Business Development Center at Navarro College have teamed up to present a great opportunity to learn about product and service offerings in the local community at the inaugural event, taking place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday

More than 50 businesses from across Navarro County will be on-hand to greet consumers with information and promotional products during the Expo. The event is free and offers something for the whole family.

Attendees should come prepared for a culinary adventure, as some of Navarro County’s most popular restaurants and caterers will be offering free tasting samples at the Expo. From savory to sweet, the Taste of Navarro County offers the opportunity to sample several restaurants and caterers in one location. Sampling products will be Affordable Affairs, Bittersweet Boutique, Tortilleria Matehuala, Taqueria el “Rey”, Collin Street Bakery, Big O’s Seafood, Navarro Regional Hospital – Morrison Food Services, Bush’s Chicken, Chili’s, Cotton Patch Cafe, CiCi’s Pizza and Kinsloe House.

“The Chamber is thrilled to be working with Robin Lasher and the Small Business Development Center of Navarro College to bring this first time event to Corsicana,” said Frank Steed, chairman of the Corsicana and Navarro County Chamber of Commerce. “We are excited to showcase our local businesses and great restaurants to the community.”

The event is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration and is made possible through the generosity of several sponsors, including Guardian Industries, Navarro Regional Hospital, Lelanie Petty Insurance Group, Community National Bank & Trust, Cook Education Center, Corsicana Main Street Program, Republican Party of Navarro County, Greenworx Printing, Corsicana Daily Sun, McKee Lumber, Tonja Barnebee, CPA, and Carl White Autoplex.

The Cook Education Center is located at 3100 W. Collin St., on the campus of Navarro College. For more information, contact the Chamber of Commerce at 903-874-4731.
