Corsicana — Editor's note: An album of photos from the Miss Juneteenth Pageant is available on the Daily Sun Facebook page.

Tabitha Bonner was named Miss Juneteenth 2013 in ceremonies held Friday.

Bonner is the daughter Donald Sandra Thomas.

She was one of six contestants in the running for the annual honor, held on the eve of the Juneteenth observance, this year slated for Saturday, June 15.

First runner-up in the competition was Gabrielle Haynes, daughter of Rona Gomer and Spencer Norris. Haynes also shared Miss Congeniality honors with Kendall Renfro.

Named second runner-up was Tahrea Johnson, daughter of Partina Johnson and Derrick Pipkins.

Taking the award for top ticket seller was Diamond Miller, daughter of Archie and Cassandra Miller.

The evening also included the naming of “Little Miss JESA” and “Master Bear” — honors given to children as a part of the pageant.

Little Miss JESA for 2013 is Kelani Waites, daughter of Kelly Sims and Darrell Waites Jr., and “Master Bear” is Kaison Smith, son of Monica Andrews and Damien Smith.

A Juneteenth Parade is taking place Saturday morning starting at 9 a.m., going from Brookshire’s in downtown Corsicana and ending at Bunert Park, where a ceremony honoring the day will take place.
