Corsicana — The Navarro College Adult Education Program offers free ESL and GED Classes in Ellis County.  Interested students under 18 years old need to contact the Navarro College Adult Education office at (903) 875-7464.  Interested students 18 years old or older need to attend the registration workshop on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Navarro College-Mexia, Room 101 or Saturday, Oct. 13, at Navarro College-Corsicana, Bain Center Room 400.  Workshop will start promptly at 10 a.m.  For more information please contact the Navarro College Adult Education Program at (903) 875-7464 or 1-800-NAVARRO ext. 7464

Barry-Emhouse Lord’s Acre will be held at the Fannie Mae Vernon Room at the Exposition Center starting with the Country Store and a Sweet Shop at 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served starting at 11:30 a.m. and will consist of turkey and dressing with all the trimmings, and homemade pies.

“Fool’s Paradise” a Corsicana/Navarro County Chamber of Commerce casino night Jimmy Buffet style will take place from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Corsicana Country Club. Admission is $45. The raffle prize is an iPad. For more information, call (903) 874-4731.

St. Elmo Cemetery Association (in Winkler, St. Elmo) will hold its annual hot dog sale and auction at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of New Hope Baptist Church. Kerens Cotton Harvest Festival will be held in downtown Kerens, complete with the Cotton Row Run 1K/5K Walk/Run, vendor booths, hot air balloons, food, music, crafts, lots of fun events for the whole family.

Hamilton-Beeman Memorial Association will hold its annual meeting at 11 a.m. at Retreat City Hall. Pertinent business as relates to the cemetery will be discussed. There will be a memorial remembrance of all those who passed away this year and are buried at the cemetery. A pot luck luncheon will follow the business meeting. Everyone is welcome, and those who have family buried at Hamilton-Beeman cemetery are especially encouraged to attend.
