Navarro County NAACP presents the Fifth Annual Freedom Fund Banquet, 1114 E. Sixth Ave., Corsicana at 7 p.m. at the MLK Center. The theme is “Your power, your vote, your decision.” Speaker will be Dr. Jamal Randy Allen Rasheed, Ph.D. Tickets are $20. Dinner will be served.
When Are We Going Home Ministry’s Riding High Horsemanship program will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Break N Free camp at 4719 NE CR 1040 in Rice. This is a free riding program for medically challenged, disabled and special needs children 0-21 and their immediate siblings. Lunch is included. The House of Refuge will be at Van’s Jewelers displaying the quilts that are being raffled off on Dec. 17, 2012. The tickets are $10 each, and all proceeds go toward the operations of the House of Refuge. For more information call (903) 874-3421.
Navarro Regional Hospital will hold a Diabetes Prevention Workshop once monthly for people with pre-diabetes or at risk for diabetes. These classese will be held on the second Tuesday of each month from 5 to 7 p.m. The Diabetes Self-Management Comprehensive Program is an ongoing class for patients diagnosed with diabetes. We will be socializing and munching from plates that you bring so be generous with the sweet treats and wear your best smile.
