God's Holy Temple COGIC located at 301 East Third Ave. Downtown Corsicana in the Home Center will have its Women Of Faith Conference Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 4 p.m. Theme: “From The World To The Church.” Evangelist Dawn Hawkins will come and share the mighty word of Jesus Christ. She was raised in Kerens, and later moved to Los Angeles, Calif. where she received her Christian Exp. under the pastorate of the late Bishop Robert W. McMurray, then under the leadership of Bishop Noel Jones of City of Refuge Ministries. Evangelist Hawkins moved back to Kerens in 1998 to care for an ailing relative. She was ordained in 1999 under the pastorate of Apostle Helen F. Richardson of the True Life Evangelistic Association. She is currently a member of the Potter's House in Dallas under the Pastorate of Bishop T. D. Jakes. She holds a Bachelors Degree of Science in Nursing, and minored in Religion at the University of Southern California. She currently works as a Registered Nurse at Baylor Waxahachie Hospital and always minsters the Good News of Jesus Christ to all she meets. Everyone is welcome. Church in the Park at Fullerton-Garitty Park will celebrate and remember 10 years with an Anniversary Celebration at 10 a.m. Sunday, July 14 (or July 21 in the event of inclement weather). The program will include a time of worship, singing and special music. There will be a recognition time for agencies and individuals who have been blessed by tithes and offerings, as well as a new tree added to the Prayer Garden in honor of those who have passed on the last 10 years. All are invited, and there will be a lunch provided afterward and the community is invited.
The Cowboy Church of Corsicana will be the venue at 10 a.m. Sunday, July 21 for Allen Frizzell, Lefty’s “other” brother when he performs during the morning worship service. Cowboy Church of Corsicana is located at 5461 W. Hwy. 31, Corsicana. This Frizzell was born into a legendary family in country music, then reborn into God’s family. He received the 2012 ICGMA’s Living Legend Award. Come join us and hear this award-winning Christian/Gospel artist. Services are held every Sunday at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 18 at 6:30 p.m. will be Family Fun Night, and everyone is invited. Come old, young, and in between. Bring your friends and neighbors. One of the special events for that night will be goat roping, which will be done on foot so if you don’t have a horse, come on. There will also be a water slide and other water activities so bring a change of clothes and a towel.

The youth and sponsors return home today (Friday) from Summer Camp. Preparations will now begin for the next Youth Led Sunday Morning Worship. The youth did a wonderful job a couple of weeks ago. Sunday services begin with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m., Morning Worship at 10:50 a.m. and Afternoon Worship at 4 p.m. Mid-week Adult Bible Study and youth devotional and activities in the Fellowship Hall and gymnasium begin each Wednesday at 7 p.m. Everyone who does not have a regular church home or just wishes to visit MBC will find warm fellowship and bible centered teaching. Grief Share, sponsored by Northside Baptist Church, meets from 5 to 7 p.m. each Sunday at the Fellowship Center on Forest Lane (across the street from Northside). This is a special weekly seminar and support group for people who are grieving the death of someone close to them. Each Grief Share session includes a video seminar and group discussion. Grief Share is a non-denominational group and features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. This group is sponsored by people who understand what you are experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time.
