The Navarro County Commissioners Court will meet in regular session at 10 a.m. Monday to accept a donation from the Navarro Community Foundation for the courthouse restoration project, and to consider putting more money into overtime for the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office is low on officers in the jail so they’ve already taken $50,000 from the regular salary portion of the sheriff’s budget and put it into overtime. This is yet another $50,000 for the same purpose.
Also on the agenda is buying an answering machine for the new phone system and replacing a member of the planning and zoning board. Charles Irvine is resigning and Kit Herrington has agreed to serve.
Commissioners are also scheduled to meet in closed, executive session to discuss personnel, and to discuss real estate. A closed session posted in the agenda to discuss pending or anticipated litigation will not be held.
