From Staff Reports
Corsicana Daily Sun
Traffic on East State Highway 31 was halted Thursday when an 18-wheeler hit a sagging telephone line, brining down the line and compromising two utility poles.
Witnesses said an 18-wheeler snagged a lowered line running parallel to the highway, forcing the line to droop just above the road. Another 18-wheeler hit it.
Both east- and west-bound traffic on the highway was brought to a halt by the incident that took place in the 2700 block of East State Highway 31.
Crews from Oncor worked quickly to raise the line and allow traffic to resume.
Pat Ann Wilson with Oncor said there was no reported power outage as a result of the damage to the utility poles.
“Some folks might have experienced a ‘blink,’” she said, adding that no power lines were hit in the incident.
She said Oncor crews would replace the damaged utility poles.
