Suspects in Dallas kidnapping arrested in Corsicana

Corsicana — Two people sought by Dallas Police in connection with an alleged kidnapping were arrested by Corsicana Police Saturday at a hotel restaurant, after the child at the center of the search was safely located in Dallas.

Local law enforcement began looking for the two female suspects about 4 p.m. Saturday after being alerted by Dallas Police of a possible kidnapping involving an 8-year-old boy. The main suspect in the alleged kidnapping was reported as a "female non-custodial parent" of the child, said Corsicana Police Chief Randy Bratton.

Information on the suspect's possible location was relayed to Navarro County officers searching for the suspect by Dallas Police, relying in part on cell phone tracking of one of the suspect's telephones.

During the search for the suspects in Navarro County, Dallas authorities reported the child had been located in Dallas, possibly returned to the metroplex by a third party, Bratton said.

The two suspects were located about 7:15 p.m. Saturday in a hotel restaurant at Highway 287 and Interstate 45, Bratton said, their car reportedly disabled by mechanical problems.

The non-custodial parent of the boy was being held Saturday on an outstanding felony fraud warrant out of Harris County. She and the second female suspect were also being held Saturday pending a kidnapping warrant out of Dallas.
