Corsicana — Corsicana Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) will be at the Corsicana YMCA from 2 to 7 p.m. If you are low income (usually under $42K) or elderly, and in need of tax filing assistance, take advantage of this free program. This year VITA will see clients with appointments first and then work with walk-ins. VITA is at the YMCA on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at the Kerens Library on Wednesdays from 1 to 4 p.m. Call George Burrell at (903) 879-2091 to schedule your appointment.

The Corsicana Newcomers' Club will hold its monthly meeting at 11 a.m. at the Kinsloe House. Come and find out about the roots of that device none of us can live without — our cell phone!  If you are new in town, or have lived here forever, you'll find Don Capehart's presentation on The Capehart Communications Collection, colloquially known as the Telephone Museum, one you won't want to miss!  It might even pique your interest into taking a virtual tour!  Call Marge Oslick at (903) 872-3508 for more information or confirmed reservations.

The Corsicana Apartment Association will hold a dinner meeting at 5:30 p.m. at the Kinsloe House, 618 W. Third Ave. The Texas Apartment Association webinar will cover “The Ins and Outs of Evictions” presented by attorney for the Houston Apartment Association Howard Bookstaff. Navarro County AARP Chapter 4653 will meet at 2 p.m. in Northwest Apartments Community Room, 1360 N. 13th Ave., Corsicana. Paula Butler, County Extension agent of Family and Consumer Science will present the program. Guests are invited to come and visit. Refreshments will be provided.
