Corsicana — The New Bethel Baptist Church, 700 Elm Flat Road, Goodlow, invites you to its Sunday School and BTU Annual Program at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 28. Guest Church will be Pastor William Cook and the Saint John Baptist Church from Avalon. You are welcome to come and enjoy the Lord with us. The Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church cordially invites you to its Family and Friends Day, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5. The morning service will be brought by Pastor Robert Murphy of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church of Dallas. he is the president of Dallas Baptist Ministers Union. At the 3 p.m. service Pastor Dr. V.B. He is a member of the National Conventin of America, Oak Cliff Ministers’ Union, Vice President of the Metroplex Builders Association and member of the Dallas and Vicinity Ministers Union, where he holds the office of Instructor for Pastor of Ethics. He received his doctoral degree in Fall of 2012 at Criswell Bible College and completed studies at the School of Scripture Accredited Bible Institute in Dallas. Bro and Sis.   • City cancels ambulance contract with county

    The City of Corsicana has notified Navarro County officials it is cancelling its agreement with the county to provide EMS ambulance service to areas outside the city limits. According to a letter sent to county officials by Corsicana Mayor Chuck McClanahan, ambulance service to county residents will end on Jan. 31, 2015.

    The project to rebuild Seventh Avenue or Highway 31 as it goes through Corsicana is almost over. From an uneven patchwork of paving and pitted concrete, now it’s a smooth ride from Beaton all the way through town.
    It just took an extra year to finish.
