Workforce commission sets veterans job fair

Corsicana — The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), in partnership with 28 local workforce development areas, will host statewide veterans job fairs on Nov. 15.

“Hiring Red, White & You!” is a joint initiative supported by Gov. Rick Perry, Dr. “Red” Duke Jr., the Texas Veterans Commission and TWC to connect returning veterans in Texas with Texas employers.

“The knowledge and skills veterans bring back from service are an important, and all too often untapped, resource for our communities” said Gov. Perry. “Every American owes a debt of gratitude to our veterans. That’s why we’re committed to meeting the needs of our communities through the talent and expertise of our service men and women.”

Information on how employers can participate and the job fair locations may be found at texasworkforce.org/svcs/vetsvcs/hiring-red-white-you.html.

The Hiring Red, White & You! Public Service Announcement featuring Gov. Perry and Dr. Duke can be found on You Tube at texasworkforce.org/twcinfo/social-media-disclaimer.html.
