The Westminster Ex-Student and Friends will hold a luncheon at the First United Methodist Church of Tehuacana, catered by Sam’s of Fairfield. To join, simply pay a $20 due and that entitles you to submit a name for a scholarship. Five names will be drawn from the pot at this luncheon, and those fortunate five will receive a scholarship for college. The goal of the Westminster Ex-Student and Friends is two-fold: to give college scholarships, and the raise the money to restore the Bell Tower at the old school. Mystery Art in Tuckertown is a silent auction and reception featuring local artists. This fundraiser supports the efforts of both the Navarro Council of the Arts and VOICE. “Pillars of our Past, Celebrating the people, places, and events in Navarro County History” will be the theme this year. Mystery Art in Tuckertown will feature 8 x 10 art work with silent bids starting at $35. The art will be on display at the Warehouse Living Arts Center April 17-26. There will be a reception with food and drinks which will feature the artwork from 5:30 to 7 p.m. April 25 at the Warehouse Living Arts Center, 119 W. Sixth Ave. Artist’s names will be revealed at the end of the auction. No tickets or reservations required, donations appreciated. MOM (Musicians of Mildred) will hold a fundraising concert at 7 p.m. at Lane Gym at Mildred High School. Musicians of Mildred gives a college scholarship to a Mildred student with musical ability. Performing will be the Mildred High School Band, the 1977 Ag Band of Mildred, and many other groups and solo artists. Tickets are $5.
House of Refuge will hold its fifth annual fundraising concert at First Baptist Church sanctuary. The concert “Glorious” will begin at 7 p.m. Todd Jones will serve as emcee for the fifth time. Wes and Liz Haefs will return with an old favorite performance, joined by Billy Elias; Crystal Trevino; Shellie Buckley, Shellie O’Neal and the Fine Arts Dept. of Navarro College; Hispanic Fellowship Praise Team; Navarro College Students performing song in American Sign Language; Taylor Parks; Lydia Bailey, Todd Jones and Wayne Owen; Grace Worship Team; and Ruined and Redeemed from First Baptist Church, Kerens. This is the one big fundraiser the House of Refuge does each year. Please come out and hear great music and support a wonderful cause.

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. at the Sirloin Stockade, 2508 West Seventh Ave. Membership is open to U.S. armed forces veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) in the Republic of Vietnam between Feb. 28,1961 and May 7,1975, or in ANY duty location between Aug. 5,1964 and May 7,1975.
