Corsicana — MOM (Musicians of Mildred) will hold a fundraising concert at 7 p.m. at Lane Gym at Mildred High School. Musicians of Mildred gives a college scholarship to a Mildred student with musical ability. Performing will be the Mildred High School Band, the 1977 Ag Band of Mildred, and many other groups and solo artists. Tickets are $5.

House of Refuge will hold its fifth annual fundraising concert at First Baptist Church sanctuary. The concert “Glorious” will begin at 7 p.m. Todd Jones will serve as emcee for the fifth time. Wes and Liz Haefs will return with an old favorite performance, joined by Billy Elias; Crystal Trevino; Shellie Buckley, Shellie O’Neal and the Fine Arts Dept. of Navarro College; Hispanic Fellowship Praise Team; Navarro College Students performing song in American Sign Language; Taylor Parks; Lydia Bailey, Todd Jones and Wayne Owen; Grace Worship Team; and Ruined and Redeemed from First Baptist Church, Kerens. This is the one big fundraiser the House of Refuge does each year. Please come out and hear great music and support a wonderful cause.

Navarro Regional Hospital’s Senior Circle will travel to Choctaw Casino in Durant, Okla. Motor coach will leave the hospital parking lot at 7:30 a.m. Free play will be added to your card upon arrival and discount on buffet. Contact Connie Beal to reserve your spot at (903) 654-6892.

The Dresden Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting Saturday,  May 4.  The meeting begins with  a memorial service at the Dresden Methodist Church at 11 a.m.  Following will be a covered dish lunch at 12 noon and a business meeting at 1 p.m.  Your attendance is encouraged and appreciated.

Mildred Independent School District board members approved the 31-year-old Corsicana native as the high school’s new principal Monday night.

    The Corsicana Police Department executed a raid on an alleged meth house Saturday afternoon, and it was done in about 45 minutes, all but the paperwork.
    “That part is on-going, reports and follow-up,” said Police Chief Randy Bratton on Monday.
