The Corsicana Emergency Corps., located at 416 South 12th Street in Corsicana, will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 7 p.m.  The general public is invited to attend.  Monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.  For further information, please call (903) 872-5072.

Navarro County Branch of NAACP will hold its regular meeting on March 12, 2013 at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center, 1114 East Sixth Ave., Corsicana. The Executives meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the General meeting will start at 7 p.m. All members are asked to attend. Your participation is critical to the success of NAACP.

The NAACP holds its regular meetings the second Tuesday of each month. If you are interested in becoming a member of NAACP or need more information about the organization you can contact the Navarro County NAACP by mail at P.O. Corsicana Volunteer Income Tax  Assistance (VITA) will be at the Kerens Public Library from 1 to 4 p.m. each Wednesday until  April 11. If you are a low income (usually under $42K) or elderly, and in need of tax filing assistance, take advantage of this free program. This year we are seeing clients with appointments first and then we’ll work with our walk-ins. VITA will be at the YMCA in Corsicana on Tuesday and Thursday from 2 until 7 p.m. and Wednesdays in Kerens at the library from 1 until 4 p.m.  Call George Burrell at (903) 879-2091 to schedule your appointment.

The Kinsloe House Civic Interest committee headed by Mable Foster, with committee members Bobbie Allen, Linda Denbow,  Pat Howell, Julia Hull, Nickie Lagomarsino, Jera O’Neal, and Margaret Thomas will present its program “Easter Parade” at noon on March 13, 2013. The program is presented by the Children’s Shop of Corsicana. The children will model all the latest fashions for children.  The Easter Bunny will be here again. Most of our models will be grandchildren of Kinsloe members. It should be lots of fun. Please call (903) 874-5791 to make reservations or cancellations by Monday, March 11th at 12 noon.
