Corsicana — A listing of meetings and events of interest from throughout Navarro County

Sept. 24

The Navarro County Republican Women will meet at the Republican Headquarters, 111-B West Third Avenue. Social time and lunch begin at 11:30 a.m. The meeting and program will begin promptly at noon. Mel Birdwell, wife of Senator Brian Birdwell, will share her perspective on the accomplishments and frustrations of the most recent legislative session. Make your lunch reservations by Saturday, Sept. 21, with Margarita Patterson, arcepark@peoplepc.com or (903) 874-8785. Lunch is $7 at the door. Everyone who is interested is invited to attend and learn more about the Republican women's organization.

Sept. 26

The Corsicana Newcomers' Club will meet at the Kinsloe House at 11 a.m. Come listen to the beautiful sounds of the Bella Voce`Trio while feasting on a great lunch with all your new best friends. Sept. 28

Brinson Ford will sponsor DRIVE 4UR SCHOOL at Mildred Baseball Complex from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Brinson Ford will donate to our Mildred ISD $20 for each test drive and no sales people. PLUS there will be a fun-filled day of activities such as bounce houses, food, crafts and more. Individual vendors may also set up.  Vendors please contact Julie Waller at wallerj@mildredisd.org for details. Have some fun, test drive the new models and all of Mildred ISD benefits.  

Navarro County A&M Club will host the “Best in Texas Steak Cook-Off” at 5:30 p.m. at the IOOF Administration Building on Second Ave. Steak and all the trimmings will be served for $15 minimum donation. Children age 8 and under are $5. Bring your partner and participate in the 42 games. Proceeds benefit the Scholarship Fund. Bring your own drinks.
