Corsicana — Blooming Grove Ex-Students Association will hold a visitation at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 19 in the Doc Garrison City Park in conjuction with homecoming festivities.  Catch up with old friends and reminisce about the old days. The City Council will provide coffee and cookies at The Lions Den (downtown Blooming Grove). The Blooming Grove Historical Society will be open that day from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. There will be a barbeque sandwich lunch at the Blooming Grove High School cafeteria at 11:30 a.m. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the high school auditorium. The program for the Blooming Grove Ex-Student Association will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Classes honored in the program will be 1953, 1963, 1973 and 1988. Oct. 22

The Navarro County Republican Women will host a program called “Restoration or Renovation.” Information concerning the upcoming bond election for the Navarro County Courthouse will be presented by Commissioners Dick Martin and James Olsen and County Auditor Kathy Hollomon. Social time and lunch begin at 11:30 a.m.  The meeting and program will begin promptly at noon. All are invited to the Republican Headquarters, 111-B West Third Ave, on Oct. 22 to hear this  presentation. Oct. 26

The American Legion Post 22, 632 N. Beaton St., will host Karaoke Night with Country Sue from 8 p.m. to midnight. For further information call (903) 874-3936 after 2 p.m. or Like us on Facebook (American Legion Post 22 Johnson-Wiggins).

The Corsicana Newcomer's Club will hold it's annual fundraising event at 6 p.m. at the Corsicana Country Club. You don't have to be a Newcomer to enjoy this fun event as the community is invited to come to this year's Blue Jeans, Boots & Bids auction, dinner and dance featuring music by Byron Haynie. A live and silent auction will be held. Proceeds raised from this event go to support local community non-profit organizations. Tickets are $25 per person.
