Corsicana — The Texas State Comptroller’s Unclaimed Property Outreach Team will be in Corsicana on Oct. 30 to host an Unclaimed Property Search event.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, in the basement of the Navarro County Courthouse.

Texas is currently holding about $3 billion in property that has not been claimed, and approximately $800 million in shared property that has been partially claimed and paid to some of the owners.

The Unclaimed Property Search event will allow those who attend to conduct a computer search of the state’s records to see if the state is holding funds in their name.

If a match is found in the search, the Comptrollers team will help file a claim. A picture ID and proof of Social Security number is required for the application.

For more information on the event, contact Navarro County Treasurer Frank Hull at 903-654-3091.
