Church News for Friday, Nov. 1, 2013

Corsicana — Kerens First Methodist Lord’s Acre will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the KESA Building in Downtown Kerens. Barbecue brisket, sausage lunch with sides will be served, tickets available at the door, with take-outs as well. Church members are asked to donate a dessert for the lunch, bring to the KESA building by 10:30 a.m. There will be a live auction at 1 p.m., as well as bake sale, and a children’s play area. All are welcome.

The Cowboy Church of Corsicana, located at 5864 W. Hwy. 31 (two miles past Wal-Mart) would like to invite everyone to our Sunday morning services at 10 a.m. each Sunday. Derek Rogers is our pastor. We have no special singer scheduled for this coming Sunday, Nov. 3, but the CCC band composed of Elias Lowe, Gary Poe, Debbie and Kenny Carter and led by Jody Thomas will provide us with some great music, as they do every week. It's worth the trip alone to come out and hear our very talented band. Wednesday night Bible Study is conducted at the church at 6:30 p.m. each week.  There will be a Men's Prayer Breakfast and Skeet Shoot held at 8 a.m. on  Saturday, Nov. 16.  If you are interested in that, please call Dustin Murphy at 903-469-441-6973 or Jeromy Mink at 903-641-8278 for more information. Other upcoming events include Billy Roy Mitcham, as special guest singer, on Nov. 10 and the following week on Nov. 17,  Wayne Jumper will be singing for us. Be sure to mark this date on your calendar, Nov. 10, when we will be having our Thanksgiving “Meet & Eat” after church with turkey and dressing furnished and side dishes added by the ladies of the church.  Everyone is invited to come and be a part of our Thanksgiving worship service and enjoy food and fellowship with this very rapidly growing and enthusiastic church.
