Corsicana — A listing of meetings and events of interest from throughout Navarro County.

Nov. 16

A car show will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Rice High School. There will be trophies for the top 10 vehicles, as well as the “Band’s Choice.” In addition to the show, there wil lbe a bake sale and silent and live auctions. The entry fee is $15, and all money will go towards the spring band trip. This year, the Bulldog band has been invited to go to Disneyworld. If it rains, the car show will take place Nov. 23. All cars, trucks, motorcycles, late performance, project, race cars, 4x4s, street rods and others are welcome to enter. The show is not exclusive to any car club. Blooming Grove VFD will hold a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Fire station. Please come out and eat a stack of pancakes, and support your local Volunteer Fire Department. Carter Blood Bank will be here from 8:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. This time of year it is critical for them to have a surplus of units. Please come help us to help them.

Nov. 16-17

Corsicana Vendor Days for November will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17 at the Pegasus Ballroom inside Ideal Self Storage at 801 North 13th Street. Pictures with Santa will be available on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Nov. 18

 Corsicana Art League will meet at 6 p.m. at Kathryn Corley's Home, 1604 Bowie Circle. She will graciously show  her art collection and tell about the pieces.  For more info: Call 903-519-9082.

 

Nov. 20

The Membership Committee will host the Kinsloe House contribution luncheon with the program, “Dallas’ Darkest Day” that will revisit the fateful day 50 years ago when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in downtown Dallas. Dr. Tommy Stringer of Navarro College will present a program remembering the life and legacy of the Camelot president. The program is sure to bring back memories of exactly where we were on this tragic day. Reservations and cancellations must be made by noon Monday, Nov. 18. Call Kinsloe House at (903) 874-5791.
