Hull seeking reelection as treasurer

Corsicana — Navarro County Treasurer Frank Hull has announced he is seeking re-election as the Treasurer of Navarro County. Hull filed for a second term as treasurer on Nov. 9. He’s running on the Republican ticket.

“It has been an honor to serve the citizens of Navarro County,” Hull said in a release announcing his bid. “I ask for your support to allow me to continue to serve you as your county treasurer.”

Hull said the county has over $2 million more in the bank than last year at this time, and that interest earned year-to-date is 14 percent higher than last year. He also said collateralization of Navarro County assets in the county’s depository bank is at 248 percent, well over the 110 percent minimum.

Hull said In his Human Resources role, his office manages the payroll, retirement and health insurance functions for over 300 employees representing almost $15 million of the 2014 county budget.

Hull said he has completed the annual training required under the Public Funds Investment Act, and also has earned a County Investment Officer (CIO) designation from the County Investment Academy.

Hull said his office initiated the Coast to Coast RX Card program that he said has saved Navarro County citizens over $280,000 in prescription costs since the inception.

The Treasurer’s Office has hosted in conjunction with the State Comptroller’s Office, unclaimed lost money events. Hull said more than $100,000 has been returned to the citizens of Navarro County from money being held by the State of Texas.

While in office, Hull has served as president of Region 11 and currently as area director and board member with the County Treasurer’s Association of Texas (CTAT). He was nominated as “Treasurer of the Year” for 2013.

As the sponsor of our Healthy County Program in Navarro County, Hull nominated Paula Butler, Navarro County’s Healthy County Coordinator, for the prestigious “Iris Stagner Award” for having the best program promoting a healthy county in 2012.

Hull said he brings the treasurer’s office over 40 years of business management expertise, a MBA in business and a strong desire to do a better job every day.

Hull serves on the board of directors of the Warehouse, is a Rotarian, a Chamber of Commerce member and founder of the Hull Family Creative Arts Scholarship Fund.

“I recognize that I am only as good as the people who work in the office,” Hull said. “We should be proud of the dedication and skill in which my staff executes their duties and responsibilities on a daily basis. I am.”

“The treasurer’s office is an important part of county government,” Hull added. “The treasurer touches every office in the courthouse. As your treasurer, I will continue to work for a better and more efficient county government.”
