What to do in case of a pipeline break will be covered in a special seminar scheduled for 11 a.m. April 16 at the Cook Center, hosted by local pipeline and gas distribution companies.
The seminar will include pipeline locations, right-of-way encroachment prevention, hazard awareness and prevention, and pipeline maintenance. It will also teach people how to recognize leaks and what to do in case of a leak.
Lunch will be served. The meal and seminar are free, but people are encouraged to register so the caterer knows how many meals to prepare.
People who should consider attending are those who live near gas and liquid pipelines, emergency responders, and those who work in the industry.
Programs are conducted in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 192 parts 615 and 616, as well as 195 parts 402, 403 and 440.
To register, call 1 (877) 477-1162.
