Corsicana — Wortham  Blues Festival will be held in downtown Wortham, with gates opening at 3 p.m., and the first band set to play at 5 p.m.

Sept. 18

James Blair Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will sponsor the United States Constitution Luncheon at 12 noon at the Kinsloe House. Program chairman Suzanne Smith has announced that Chatfield native Robert Jones will be the speaker for the special event. The Thomas Meredith Chapter, Colonial Dames XVII Century, will attend the special United States Constitution Luncheon.

Sept. 21

Corsicana Vendor’s Day will have a Corsicana-Navarro County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting/grand opening at it inaugural show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 801 N. 13th Street (original KMart building) Pegasus Ballroom. This show will house 73 vendors, so make plans now to come out and shop.

Mustang and Mildred VFDs will hold a fundrasier at Lake Halbert from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be a car/bike show sponsored by Cars of Navarro County, a Ranch 106.9 Ice Cream “cookoff,” food, bands, water slides and other kid’s activities, as well as an auction with guns, deer stands, deer feeders and more.

Sept. 26

The Corsicana Newcomers' Club will meet at the Kinsloe House at 11 a.m. Come listen to the beautiful sounds of the Bella Voce`Trio while feasting on a great lunch with all your new best friends. Oct. 11

Senior Olympics will be held at the IOOF park in Corsicana from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Events include fishing tournament, dominoes, horseshoes, live band and picnic.  Facilities participating are Twilight Home, Sterling House, Heritage Oaks West and Retirement Village, Country Meadows and Trisun. Sponsors for the event include many local organizations and businesses.
