Corsicana — VFW Post 3366 will have a dance from 8 p.m. to midnight in the ballroom side of the VFW Post 3366 off of W. Hwy 31. Randy Blue and The Full House Band will be the entertainment for the evening. There will be a $5 cover charge at the door.
Barry Volunteer Fire Department will hold a Barbecue Fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Barry VFD, 105 W. South Front St. Brisket, sausage, chicken, beans, potato salad, tea and desserts will go for $8 for adults, and $4 for children. Corsicana Chatanooga Glass Plant Reunion will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 beginning at 3 p.m. at Mildred Baptist Church gym, 5502 S. Hwy 287, across from Mildred Schools. The fellowship will begin at 3 p.m. followed by a barbecue dinner at 5:30 p.m. for $10 per plate. Auction and doorprizes will follow. Roger Q. Mills Chapter 2466 Daughters of the Confederacy will host a memorial and dedication at 10:30 a.m. for A. E. Morse at his grave site in Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana. The public is invited and welcome to attend. Members of the Terry’s Texas Rangers Camp SCV will help with this event. A.E. Morse was a member of the famed Georgia Chatham Artillery battery. This will be the 150th anniversary of his last known flight during his tour of duty.
Emhouse Community Center will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Judge H.M. Davenport Jr. will review the amendments that will be on the ballot. Everyone is invited. Refreshments will be served.
