Corsicana — The Corsicana Newcomers' Club meeting for February will fill you in on what's going on in Corsicana!  We are fortunate to have BOTH Mayor Chuck McClanahan and City Manager Connie Standridge speaking to us on our great city! Navarro County AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) Chapter 4653 will meet at 2 p.m. at the Northwest Apartment Community Room, 1360 N. 13th Ave. Billy Elias will present the program. President Nora Thomas and committee will provide refreshments.

Corsicana Apartment Association will host Dr. Tommy Stringer, Executive Director of the Navarro College Foundation, as he presents the program for the monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. at the Kinsloe House.  Dr. Stringer will present a power point program on the early days of Navarro College, the campus and the people involved in the early development of Navarro College.  Reservations must be made by 5 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26 by calling (903) 874-7165 or by emailing c.a.a@sbcglobal.net.

The Navarro College Adult Education Program has cancelled all February and March Orientation and Registration Workshops for GED and ESL classes. If you are interested in taking these classes, please contact the Adult Education office at (903) 875-7464 or 1-800-NAVARRO ext. 7464 for registration information.

American Cancer Society will hold its Bark For Life and Car Show at Bunert Park, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is a $10 entry fee for autos, with eight trophies to be given away.

March 4, 5

The Navarro Council of the Arts present The National Tour of The Rainbow Fish for all kindergarten through second graders in Navarro County at The Palace Theatre. Shows will take place both days at 9:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. For more information contact the Navarro Council of the Arts at (903) 872-5411.
