Standing In Prayer celebrated five years together on Sept. 15, 2012, as women come together from all over the area and stand in prayer each month for their country, community, churches and families. This group of prayer warriors are the Christian heart of many churches. Every woman is invited to come join.



Word Alive Church, 3900 FM 744, welcomes Evangelist Rod Vincent of Dayton, Texas as speaker for a revival to be held Sunday, Nov. 25 at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., and at 7 p.m. nightly Nov. 26-28. Evangelist Vincent was born and raised in South Louisiana as a Catholic. At the age of 21, he came to know the saving power of Jesus Christ. He has been an evangelist for 33 years, ministering in 35 states and five foreign countries, preaching over 1300 revivals, numerous camp meetings, youth camps, singles retreats and youth rallies. He has been on numerous television and radio programs. Vincent has a touch of God on his life that will challenge you to be committed to Jesus in the 21st Century. His unique style of wit and annointing will take you to the summit of your Christian walk. Come and be blessed by God and you will not leave like you came.



Johnson Memorial COGIC, 1600 S. Seventh St., Corsicana, will hold a Family and Friends Day at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012. Guest speaker will be Elder Amanda Johnson. She is the third child of Pastors Joseph and the late Charlene Johnson. She is a single mother of two, Morgan and Josiah.  She founded Power for My Purpose Ministry in 2007 and is a passionate International Speaker sharing her life-changing transformation through the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the United States of America; Mexico and Africa. Amanda is gifted in deliverance and healing and is a member of Forward In Faith Ministries International (FIFMI) where she serves as an Elder.



The Gospel Five will celebrate its 31st Anniversary at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at Kelly’s Temple Church located at 501 N. Third St., Corsicana. Elder Billy Joe Kelly, pastor. Everyone is invited to come and praise the Lord with us.



Unity Baptist Church, 101 S. 30th St., where Chad Owens is pastor, invites you to services: Sunday School at 9:45 am.  Sunday — worship and children’s church at 11 a.m., Training Classes at 5 p.m., worship at 6 p.m., and Wednesday — Mid Week Service at 7 p.m., Kings Kids class meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. Tuesday, a group from Unity visits shut-ins. Thursday, there is a Bible study at Northwest Apartments Community Center. At 7 p.m. Saturday our Youth will have a Bake Sale in front of Fred’s, starting at 10 a.m. This Bake Sale is to raise money for upcoming youth camps.  Sunday, a group teaches and sings at Twilight Nursing Home at 9 a.m. and another group sings at Country Meadows at 2 p.m.  We will have Soup/ Salad Day this Sunday after morning service in honor of our Pastor’s birthday!  For transportation to services, call (903)872-2861. Bethany Baptist Church invites you and yours to its 60th Homecoming Celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18. Come expecting a blessing from God and fellowship with members, family and friends. The theme this year is “It’s Time to Come Home.” The Rev. J.R. Mumphery, pastor of the Greater Calvary Baptist Church, Dallas, will bring the gospel message. Food will be served after the service.



First Baptist Church of Eureka, 8718 Hwy 287 South, will sponsor an outdoor Community Family Movie Night at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16. There will be no charge to watch the movie. We will have hot dogs, popcorn and drinks for sale for those who would like to donate to our building fund. Bring lawn chairs or blankets and the family out for an evening of fun. (if weather is bad we will move inside) More details to come. Sunday service is at 10:45 a.m., first and third Wednesdays, prayer service; second and fourth Wednesdays, Ladies Night; fifth Wednesdays, Youth Night; first Saturdays of each month Men's fellowship.



Lone Star Cowboy Church of Navarro County, located at 4495 W. State Hwy. 22, invites all to join us for our Sunday Church Services starting at 10 a.m. There is nursery for babies through age 2 years and activities for 3 and 4 year olds. Children ages 5 through 12 are invited to meet in the children’s building for Children’s Church.  There are also the following activities, Monday Nights at 7 p.m., Mounted Shooting; Tuesday 7 p.m., Team Roping and Women’s fellowship. 7 p.m. each Wednesday is Bible Study and Youth Service. Barrel racing is held at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Reaching out To You Ministry of Sixth Avenue Baptist Church, 125 S. Fifth St., invites you to a Fish Fry from 10 a.m. until food runs out today. The Second Annual Women Conference will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17. Guest teachers are First Lady C. Williams, Freedom Fellowship; Co-pastor D. Walters of Lifeline Church; First Lady D. Daniels of Faith Tabernacle Ministry, Palestine; Minister Cathy Jones of Jericho City, Dallas; and Bishop P.A. Rischer of Faith Temple Ministries, Fairfield. Everyone is invited to the 6 p.m. healing service, which is a tag team duo of Minister C. Tillman of Dallas and Elder Valorie Horn of Taylor’s Memorial COGIC. Come out and be blessed.



New Bethel Baptist Church in Goodlow will host a Thanksgiving Day Service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22 and you are invited. Bishop k.d. davis sr. will be the special guest speaker.



Westminster's XYZ (Extra Years of Zest) invites members and friends in the community to enjoy a delightful musical program by Sandra Huffman and Rob Larson.  Come and share lunch with congenial companions on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 11:45 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Westminster Presbyterian Church.  Bring a side dish or dessert; entree is provided.  Call Westminster for more information: (903) 874-3781.



Second Mission Baptist Church located at 909 South 5th St. where Larry L. Polk, Sr., serves as Pastor will congregate Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 at 3 p.m. to evoke “solidarity with the Savior through Worship and Fellowship”.  Please join us in this worshipful event to the Glory of God.  

 

Missionary Baptist Church is located at 415 S. 15th Street in Corsicana. Last Saturday's "work day" was a good day. Several projects were completed in the Fellowship Hall and the adjoining gymnasium. A good number of people were present to work and enjoy the hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch. $101 was received for the youth fund from selling recently replaced metal, equipment and parts.The Youth Leaders have asked for all of the youth to be present this coming Sunday afternoon to help plan coming events that will include the use of the gymnasium and Fellowship Hall. This coming Sunday is also another special day for the church. Bro. Rusty Denny will speak at both the Morning and Afternoon Worship Services in view of a call as pastor. Bro. Denny is a former pastor of Cedar Creek Baptist Church in southern Navarro County. Visitors are welcome at Missionary Baptist and are encouraged to attend. Services of the day begin with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m., Morning Worship at 10:50 a.m., lunch in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the Morning Worship and the Afternoon Worship at 1:15 p.m. rather than the usual 4 p.m. “Angels” has been the lesson subject the last several weeks at the Wednesday Evening Bible Study and Prayer Meeting. Everyone is invited to join this informal service at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The truth of an old cliche that “Things are happening at Missionary Baptist” is exciting to experience: Fellowship is wonderful, Bible teaching and preaching are true to scripture and attendance is growing. We invite all interested persons to come and experience these services with us.



Dayspring Fellowship, 111 W. Collin, invites you to worship on Sundays at 10 a.m. and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. This church is no longer located at the Taylorosa, but rather downtown on W. Collin. Greater Love Outreach Fellowship Church invites you to a Free Thanksgiving Lunch on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The church will also give away coats and clothes for the winter. Amelia Barton Church of the Living God, 917 G.W. Jackson St., Corsicana will hold a Thanksgiving Prayer Revival at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 with guest speaker Pastor Sharon Holmes, COTLG, and at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18 with Speaker Pastor D.W. Corsicana Ministerial Alliance is sponsoring the Community Thanksgiving Service at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 at Calvary Worship Center, 1364 N. Beaton St. Everyone is cordially invited to attend. There will be music, including an appearance by Southern Joy, and keynote speaker is Dr. Bayard Pratt, pastor of the First United Methodist Church.



Navarro County Men’s Prayer Fellowship will meet at First Baptist Church, 510 W. Collin, at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012. Breakfast will be provided.



The Community of Kerens will host a Thanksgiving Service at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18 at Kerens High School. Speaker for the evening is Pastor Samuel Washington of New Hope Baptist Church. The public is invited. Psalms 107:1 “Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good, for His mercy endureth forever.” The doors are open and you are welcome.
