Corsicana — Westminster's XYZ (Extra Years of Zest) invites members and friends in the community to enjoy a delightful musical program by Sandra Huffman and Rob Larson.  Come and share lunch with congenial companions on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 11:45 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Westminster Presbyterian Church.  Bring a side dish or dessert; entree is provided.  Call Westminster for more information: (903) 874-3781.

Second Mission Baptist Church located at 909 South 5th St. where Larry L. Polk, Sr., serves as Pastor will congregate Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 at 3 p.m. to evoke “solidarity with the Savior through Worship and Fellowship”.  Please join us in this worshipful event to the Glory of God.

Missionary Baptist Church is located at 415 S. 15th Street in Corsicana. Last Saturday's "work day" was a good day. Several projects were completed in the Fellowship Hall and the adjoining gymnasium. A good number of people were present to work and enjoy the hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch. $101 was received for the youth fund from selling recently replaced metal, equipment and parts. The Youth Leaders have asked for all of the youth to be present this coming Sunday afternoon to help plan coming events that will include the use of the gymnasium and Fellowship Hall. This coming Sunday is also another special day for the church. Bro. Rusty Denny will speak at both the Morning and Afternoon Worship Services in view of a call as pastor. Bro. Denny is a former pastor of Cedar Creek Baptist Church in southern Navarro County. Visitors are welcome at Missionary Baptist and are encouraged to attend. Services of the day begin with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m., Morning Worship at 10:50 a.m., lunch in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the Morning Worship and the Afternoon Worship at 1:15 p.m. rather than the usual 4 p.m. “Angels” has been the lesson subject the last several weeks at the Wednesday Evening Bible Study and Prayer Meeting. Everyone is invited to join this informal service at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The truth of an old cliche that “Things are happening at Missionary Baptist” is exciting to experience: Fellowship is wonderful, Bible teaching and preaching are true to scripture and attendance is growing. We invite all interested persons to come and experience these services with us.
