Corsicana — A listing of meetings and events of interest from throughout Navarro County.

Sept. 5

Blooming Grove Crime Watch will meet at 7 p.m. at the Blooming Grove Historical Society building across from Blooming Grove City Hall. The guest speaker will be Blooming Grove ISD superintendent Jimmie Malone. Light refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Corsicana Community Blood Drive will be held at First United Methodist Church Martin Hall, from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Battle of the Badges, Law Enforcement vs. Fire Department means each donor denotes which organization they support, and the one with the most supporters wins. Each donor will receive a free T-shirt. Please call 1-800-RED-CROSS to schedule an appointment.

Sept. 6

The American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 22, 632 N. Beaton St., will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. at the post. All members and prospective members are invited to attend. For further information call (903) 874-3938 after 2 p.m. or Like us on Facebook (American Legion Post 22 Johnson-Wiggins).

Sept. 7

Johnson-Wiggins American Legion Post 22 of Corsicana will host its Second Annual 9-11 Never Forget Memorial Service at 2 p.m. at the Post, 632 N. Beaton St. The memorial service will honor the victims of the attack on America and the American military service personnel who have died in the war against terrorism while other members of the service continue to fight. There will be a blood drive, the Veterans Tribute Motorcycle (www.veteranstributemotorcycle.com) will be on display, MeMaw’s Misfits wil dance, there wil be a silent auction, several cook-off events, and vendor booths. Sept. 8

The Kinsloe House hosts the September first Sunday luncheon on the second Sunday, due to the Labor Day holiday weekend, at the regular time, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The luncheon will consist of a spring fruit salad, entrée choices will be basil honey mustard chicken or French onion pork chop, creamy mashed potatoes and glazed garlic green beans, and chocolate heath trifle or French vanilla latte cupcake. This will be the first Sunday luncheon with our new caterer, Emily Hines. Please make your reservations and meet our new chef, and visit with friends.
