The Corsicana Newcomers' Club Lunch Bunch will enjoy a casual lunch at the Corsicana Country Club at 11:30 a.m. Call Pat Schroeder at 903-872-9663 to save you a seat at the table.

Sept. 13

The Navarro County Retired Teachers will meet at 9:45 a.m. at the Northwest Apartments Community Center, 1360 Northwest Ave. The program will be presented by Catherine Gatz on benefits for teachers. All retired school employees are invited to attend.

Sept. 14

Corsicana Masonic Lodge #174 is announces its first Benefit Golf Tournament taking place at the Oak Trails Golf Course. The tournament will have a shot gun start at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., with contests including closest to the pin on holes 6 and 11, and a Hole in One contest on hole 16 with a grand prize of a new Ford Fusion automobile. The City of Corsicana presents “Fiesta Tejas” in celebration of Hispanic Heritage month in its final Second Saturday event of the 2013 series from 3 to 9 p.m. (or dark.) Festivities include live Conjunto music, Charro horse show, Ballet Folklorico, a homemade tamale contest, car club cruise in, bounce house, vendors, food, and more! The event will take place at Third Avenue between Main and Beaton in downtown Corsicana. Come early and visit our local merchants. Fiesta on the Bricks Car show from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Third Ave. between Beaton and Main across from the Napa store. This free event will have awards such as Best of Show, Best Project, Kids Class, Best Bike, and 10 “Head Turner” awards. Check in for the show closes at 6:30, so come out and bring your car, bike, truck, project car, 4X4, hot rod, muscle car, rat rods, etc. and show it off!
