Corsicana — God's Holy Temple COGIC, located at 301 East Third Ave. downtown Corsicana in the home center, would like to thank everyone who came last week and celebrated with us our Third Year Church Anniversary service. The official day will end Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013 at 4 p.m. with special guest church and congregation, Behind The Veil Ministry with Bishop Sam Cumby and First Lady Lurna Cumby of Fairfield. Come and worship God with us in singing and praising God for the mighty things he is doing at God's Holy Temple COGIC. Pastor Eric Grant and Lady Jackie Grant, pastors.



The Blooming Grove United Methodist Church, 300 S. Kerr,  Blooming Grove, will be celebrating and honoring the 100th anniversary of its current church building on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013. The church doors will open to welcome past and present members, guests and visitors at 10 a.m. A special worship service will begin at 11 a.m. preached by Bishop Mike Lowry with special music by the Douglas Family.  Following the service, lunch will be served in its Heritage Hall. Please join us in celebrating this historic day.



NOW Faith Miracle Center, 301 Margaret Dr., Kerens, celebrates its Eighth Year Church Anniversary at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013. Come and celebrate with us. There will be guest churches, great choirs, praise dancing and a dynamic speaker.



The 66th Annual Silent Grove Cemetery Annual will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 at the St. John Baptist Church located at 209 T. A. Carroll Avenue. The spoken word will be brought by Pastor Charles Kelley of the Rockhill Baptist Church. All family members and other relatives are encouraged to come and support this service. Wesley United Methodist Church, 3308 N. Beaton St., will resume its after school program Noah’s Kids at 3:15 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Registration is Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 2:30 to 5 p.m. This program is for all third, fourth and fifth graders. Come and join us for snacks, crafts, Bible lessons and learning how to take care of God’s good earth in our church garden. New Bethel Baptist Church, 700 Elm Flat Road, Goodlow, and Pastor Earnest Betts Jr. will hold its Ushers Annual Day on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Pastor M. Taylor and The TrueVine Baptist Church, Ferris. Come and enjoy the Lord with us.



Carroll Chapel A.M.E. Church, Richland, will celebrate its Homecoming with services on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013. The morning service will be 11 a.m. followed by dinner at 2 p.m., and an evening service at 3 p.m. Take I-45 South to Hwy. 14, Richland exit, go about one mile and make a right on View Lane, Church to left past curve.



Community Baptist Church, corner of Hwy. 31 and SW CR 3040, Corsicana, is proud to announce a celebration of its Pastor David L. Spann and wife, Liz Spann’s first year anniversary. You are invited to worship with them at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 15. Family and friends are invited to come and help say Thank You to our Pastor and wife for their service. The Liberty Tabernacle of God, 2708 W. Seventh Ave., and founder Pastor Erma Waites will observe their third year anniversary as the Lord’s Church. Unity Baptist Church, 101 S. 30th St., where Chad Owens is Pastor, invites you to services: Sunday School 9:45 a.m. Sunday: worship and children’s church at 11 a.m., worship at 6 p.m., and Wednesday: Prayer meeting at 7 p.m., Kings Kids class meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month.  We now have Kings Kids for Teens also. Missionary Baptist Church, 405 S. 15th Street, Corsicana is preparing for two special youth-sponsored events in September. On Saturday, Sept. 14,  a “Back to School Fun Day” will begin at 3 p.m. There will be food, games and fun including a large water slide on the church lawn. This event is also for adults. Come and enjoy the fun and good eats. A special youth-led Morning Worship is scheduled for Sept. 22. The entire service will be conducted by the youth of the church including the morning message. This is a tried and true group of young people who do a wonderful job. The church is really looking forward to these two events. This week, regular services are scheduled: Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. followed by Morning Worship at 10:50 a.m. and Afternoon Worship at 4 p.m. Wednesday Evening Youth Program and Adult Bible Class begin at 7 p.m. MBC is alive and growing in spirit and number. Intercessors for Navarro County Men’s Prayer Breakfast will meet at Navarro College, in the Lone Star Room at the cafeteria at 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday mornings. Blooming Grove United Methodist Church will hold its Lord's Acre celebration on Sept. 14, 2013 at the Blooming Grove Methodist Church. The Country Store will be open from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with take-outs starting at 11 a.m.  Free delivery in Blooming Grove area.  Call (903) 695-2334.  The meal will consist of brisket, potato salad, beans, slaw, dessert and tea.  Adult meals are $8 and children 10 and under $5.  The live auction will begin in the sanctuary at 1 p.m. There will be a drawing for a beautiful homemade quilt made by the BGUMC quilting group. First Baptist Church, 510 W. Collin, Corsicana Kidz Day Out Preschool Program is now enrolling children ages 6 weeks old through Pre-K for the Fall. Petty’s Chapel Baptist Church, 1300 FM 3041, where Elvin Sikes serves as Pastor would like to invite everyone to our worship services.  Petty’s Chapel Baptist Church is located on Old Roane Road a half mile east of I-45.  Sunday worship begins at 8:30 a.m.  There is a short time of fellowship and Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m.  Wednesday night services begin at 6:30 p.m.  We would also like to invite all women to a special time of fellowship and Bible study.  It is held every second and fourth Saturday of each month at 11 a.m. in the fellowship hall.  (Light lunch and childcare will be provided.)

Grief Share, sponsored by Northside Baptist Church, meets from 5 to 7 p.m. each Sunday at the Fellowship Center on Forest Lane (across the street from Northside). This is a special weekly seminar and support group for people who are grieving the death of someone close to them. Each Grief Share session includes a video seminar and group discussion. Grief Share is a non-denominational group and features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. This group is sponsored by people who understand what you are experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time.
