Derrick Days Biker Bash draws 250-plus (with results)

Corsicana — The Derrick Days Biker Bash, sponsored by the Corsicana Parks and Recreation Department, more than doubled its size this year at the Derrick Days Celebration.

Sharla Allen, parks and recreation director, said the event drew over 250 motorcycles and riders to the Derrick Days Celebration this year, up from just under 100 participants in the event’s inaugural ride last year.

Entrants were offered a variety of competitions, including a 100-mile tri-country “Poker Run,” along with contests for best motorcycle in several categories, a “burn out” competition, and even an arm wrestling contest.

Cash prizes and trophies were awarded in a number of categories. The event was marred only by one small crash along the “Poker Run” that resulted in only minor injuries, said Allen.
