Corsicana teen wins talent contest

Corsicana — Recently Brooke Adams, 16, native Corsicana teen, received First Place in the 2013 State 4-H Roundup Talent Contest at Texas A&M University in College Station. She competed with teenagers from around the State of Texas and won this first place award for the talent of singing. She performed her award-winning song in front of an audience of about 5,000.

Brooke has been singing since the age of 2 1/2. She has performed and place first in the local Lions Club Talent Show for three years, and one year she received the “Best of Show” award. She also has participated in singing at numerous local and area-wide churches, and presented programs in almost all nursing homes in Corsicana. She has been a featured soloist at the Kinsloe House, Palace Theatre, Martins Music Hall, Ellis County Music Association, Corsicana’s Derrick Days festival and the Blue Bird Festival in Will’s Point, where she currently resides.

Brooke’s parents are Lisa and Les Jones of Will’s Point and Mike and Cherié Adams of Corsicana.
