Law enforcement officials are seeking a suspect in the robbery of Chase Bank in Corsicana Saturday morning.
Police were notified of the robbery at 10:26 a.m. Saturday, after a black male dressed in sweat pants, and a dark hoodie sweatshirt with a zipper handed a note to a lobby teller, demanding money.
The suspect then walked out of the east door of the bank lobby with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area, according to Corsicana Police Chief Randy Bratton.
Bratton said the suspect is about 6 feet tall, and approximately 170 pounds, and thought to be be in his 30's, perhaps 40 years of age, with a goatee. He was also wearing construction-type gloves, Bratton added. Some witnesses also said the suspect might have been wearing dark baseball cap.
Police sealed off the lobby area and officers and sheriff’s deputies began a search of the neighborhood for the suspect. The FBI has also been notified, Bratton said.
Police are looking at surveillance video from the bank in an effort to identify the suspect and get more information about his description and actions.
Anyone with information on the robbery or the suspect is asked to contact the Corsicana Police Department at (903) 654-4902.
