Corsicana — The Roane Chapel Full Gospel Church, 100 S. Parham St., Corsicana will have a city wide “Marriage is a Ministry” seminar at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16. Minister Clarence W. and Elder Valorie D. Horn, of Taylor’s Memorical Church of God in Christ will be the speakers. The seminar is beneficial for our families as well as for our city. Recognition will be given for “the oldest” married couple, the “longest” married couple, as well as those engaged or newlyweds. Door prizes, gifts, and awards will be given through the seminar. We invite and welcome the Single, Married, Engaged and Just Curious to come out and enjoy this annual seminar. Do you know that marriage is a ministry? Come have fun and be blessed and bless your household with what you will receive on this day. Brunch will be served.

Bethel SDA Family Ministries Department will present a workshop from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 at Bethel Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 717 E. 13th Ave., Corsicana. Elder Charles and Dr. Gloria Miller, licensed and certified professional educator and therapist of Rockford, Ill. will present the workshop. Light refreshments will be served. Love Chapel Baptist Church located at 400 North Benton Street where David E. Wilson serves as Pastor and Sharron D. Wilson serves as Minister will present a Black History Program at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013. Special guests include Derica Pipkins of Johnson Memorial COGIC, Pastor Joseph Johnson, Sr.; HeavynneLeigh Johnson of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Pastor Alfred Cox, Jr.;  Curtis Sparks, Jr. of Sixth Avenue Baptist Church, Bishop k.d.davis, Sr.; Hopewell Baptist Church of Dawson, Pastor Monroe Allen; Olive Grove Baptist Church, Blooming Grove, Pastor Curtis Johnson, Sr.;  and the Bethlehem Baptist Church, Pastor Dairy Johnson, Sr.  The spoken word will be brought by Minister David Brashawn Wilson, the son of Pastor David E. Wilson. David is married to Cynthia, and they have two sons, David Jr. and Caleb.  He is a member of the North Richland Hills Baptist Church in Ft. Worth under the leadership of Pastor Scott Maze.  In observance of Black History Month our theme is “Connecting The Past to the Present” from the scripture text Psalms 77:11-14. Everyone is cordially invited to come and give Praises and thanksgiving to God for the many blessings He has given to us!
