One suspect is in custody Sunday following an early morning disturbance that left a Corsicana man dead.
Navarro County Sheriff Elmer Tanner said deputies responding to a call of a possible disturbance on Regal Row off of Roane Road early Sunday arrived to find a subject unresponsive after what appeared to be some kind of physical altercation.
The victim, Steven Felder, 45, of Corsicana, was transported to Navarro Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy was ordered to determine the cause of death, Tanner said.
Tanner said after interviews with several potential witnesses, a “person of interest” in the investigation was taken into custody Sunday afternoon for an aggravated assault hold, while they await the preliminary autopsy report.
The Daily Sun does not generally identify an individual jailed until they have been arraigned.
Tanner said his agency is investigating the incident as a homicide, pending the outcome of the preliminary autopsy report.
