The Navarro County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man found at the FM 2859 boat ramp Monday night as a homicide.
Deputies were called to the bridge area on the Kerens side of Richland Chambers Lake at 8 p.m. Monday after a passerby reported finding the man slumped over in his car and unresponsive.
Sheriff Elmer Tanner said the man was suffering from a possible gunshot wound.
The victim was transported by Corsicana EMS personnel to Navarro Regional Hospital, but later died, Tanner said.
Deputies and investigators remained at the boat ramp Monday night conducting an initial investigation into the man’s death.
Tanner said the incident would be initially investigated as a homicide unless evidence suggests otherwise.
The identity of the victim was not available at press time Monday, pending notification of next of kin.
