Church News for Friday, July 26, 2013

Corsicana — News and announcements submitted by area congregations throughout Navarro County.

 Love Chapel Baptist Church located at 400 North Benton Street where David E. Wilson serves as Pastor and Sharron D. Wilson serves as Minister and the Love Chapel Family, is proud to announce that Bro. John Pitts will receive his Minister's license and his wife Sis. Sandra Pitts will receive her Evangelist License at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 28, 2013.  Bro. and Sis. Pitts, have completed their two-year Bible Principle Study and Fundamental training  Classes of Tuesday School administered by Pastor David E. Wilson.  They both have acknowledged their call to Minister God's Word and to be witnesses for the work of the Lord. The public is cordially invited to attend this service.

 Harmony Baptist Church, 400 East 12th Ave., Corsicana, will hold appreciation services for its pastor and wife, The Most Honorable Bishop John Baker and First Lady Minister Vanessa Baker, for their 19 years of dedicated service to the church. Wednesday, July 31 at 7:30 p.m. will be the first service, with God’s Holy Temple COGIC as guest church, and message by Elder Eric Grant Sr., pastor. Bishop Robert Davis, Pastor, will bring the spoken word on Thursday, Aug. 1 at 7:30 p.m. as Emmanuel’s Upperroom COGIC of Texas, Reagor Springs is the guest church. And at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2013 guest church will be Open Door COGIC with Minister Kenneth Albert bringing the message, under the leadership of Overseer Joan Thompson. There will be no morning service on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013. Appreciation services will conclude at 3:30 p.m. Sunday when Ennis Mt. Zion Church will be the guest church and Elder Rufus Gant, pastor, will be the speaker of the hour. Other guests will be:  Pastor Joe Hubbard, Sr. and Macedonia Baptist Church, Streetman; Pastor Ronald Williams and Faith to Faith Ministries, Burleson; Bishop Annell Haney and Church of the Living God, Malakoff; and Pastor William Laktari and Gospel Springs International, Ft. Worth. Dinner will be served at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4 at the MLK Community Center, 1114 E. Sixth Avenue, Corsicana.  Please come and share with us in these great services.

Mildred Independent School District board members approved the 31-year-old Corsicana native as the high school’s new principal Monday night.
