Corsicana — News and announcements submitted by area congregations throughout Navarro County.

 Love Chapel Baptist Church located at 400 North Benton Street where David E. Wilson serves as Pastor and Sharron D. Wilson serves as Minister and the Love Chapel Family, is proud to announce that Bro. John Pitts will receive his Minister's license and his wife Sis. Sandra Pitts will receive her Evangelist License at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 28, 2013.  Bro. and Sis. Pitts, have completed their two-year Bible Principle Study and Fundamental training  Classes of Tuesday School administered by Pastor David E. Wilson.  They both have acknowledged their call to Minister God's Word and to be witnesses for the work of the Lord. The public is cordially invited to attend this service.

 Harmony Baptist Church, 400 East 12th Ave., Corsicana, will hold appreciation services for its pastor and wife, The Most Honorable Bishop John Baker and First Lady Minister Vanessa Baker, for their 19 years of dedicated service to the church. Wednesday, July 31 at 7:30 p.m. will be the first service, with God’s Holy Temple COGIC as guest church, and message by Elder Eric Grant Sr., pastor. Bishop Robert Davis, Pastor, will bring the spoken word on Thursday, Aug. 1 at 7:30 p.m. as Emmanuel’s Upperroom COGIC of Texas, Reagor Springs is the guest church. And at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2013 guest church will be Open Door COGIC with Minister Kenneth Albert bringing the message, under the leadership of Overseer Joan Thompson. There will be no morning service on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013. Appreciation services will conclude at 3:30 p.m. Sunday when Ennis Mt. Zion Church will be the guest church and Elder Rufus Gant, pastor, will be the speaker of the hour. Other guests will be:  Pastor Joe Hubbard, Sr. and Macedonia Baptist Church, Streetman; Pastor Ronald Williams and Faith to Faith Ministries, Burleson; Bishop Annell Haney and Church of the Living God, Malakoff; and Pastor William Laktari and Gospel Springs International, Ft. Worth. Dinner will be served at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4 at the MLK Community Center, 1114 E. Sixth Avenue, Corsicana.  Please come and share with us in these great services.



Missionary Baptist Church, 405 S. 15th Street, Corsicana. Many thanks to the Daily Sun Church News readers for your prayers for Missionary Baptist Church as we continue to do the work God has blessed us to have. Every blessing is cherished. Worship, praise and teaching continue this week beginning at 9:45 a.m. for Sunday School. Worship services are at 10:50 a.m. and 4 p.m. Homemade ice cream will be enjoyed by all in the Fellowship Hall following the Evening Worship. The Adult Bible Study and the Youth activities begin at 7 p.m. each Wednesday. All visitors are welcome and always receive a warm welcome. Come and be blessed.

   True Deliverance Outreach Ministry, 801 N. 13th St. (original K-Mart store) will host Co-pastor Debbie Keele speaking at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2013.    Open Door Church of God in Christ, 1201 East Eighth Ave, Corsicana, will have a Seven Day Revival. It will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013 and continue Monday thru Friday at 7:30 p.m. and ending at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013.  God designated three speakers for this VERY special occasion: Pastor David /Co-Pastor Erlene Williams of Waxahachie for Sunday through Tuesday, Evangelist Ella Coaster for Wednesday thru Friday and Pastor Ernie Sample of West for Sunday. United Methodist Women’s Annual Salad Supper will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, 2013 at St. Luke Methodist Church, 2308 N. Bowie, host church. Inspirational speaker Mandy Grounds, with her husband Donnie, will bring the program. Bring your favorite salad and join us. Bring a guest.



 Grace Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church invites you to join its family as they celebrate the man and woman of God, Pastors Michael and Joann Donaldson with an appreciation service Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013 at 3 p.m. God has truly blessed Grace Temple with this awesome team and the church family wants to take this time to express their love for them and to thank them for their dedication and hard work.   Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance will hold its Fourth Sunday Night Fellowship Service at at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Alfred Cox, Jr.  Rev. James E. Mitchell Sr., Associate Minister of the Bethlehem Baptist Church will bring the message.  Guest church is Macedonia Baptist Church, Streetman, Rev. Joe Hubbard, pastor. Second Mission Baptist Church, 909 S. Fifth, will hold a “Men Only” movement of God from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013. Area pastors/ministers will speak on the topics: 1) Breaking generational curses, 2) Receiving generational blessings, 3) Dead Men Walking, 4) No More Excuses. Rev. Lone Star Cowboy Church of Navarro County, located at 4495 W. Thirteenth Ave. Christian Church will hold a Benefit Barbecue Sale at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3 at A-1 Rental on Seventh Ave. behind Bush’s Chicken. Proceeds will go to the women’s group at 13th Ave. Christian Church.

East Texas District Pentecostal Church of God invites you to its Camp Meeting and Convention Aug. 5-7, with Guest Speaker Rev. Joe Skiles Sr. It will be held at the East Texas District Pentecostal Church of God Convention Center, 3521 Bus. 45 north, Corsicana. Hosted by te executive committee. First Baptist Church, 510 W. Collin, Corsicana Kidz Day Out Preschool Program is now enrolling children ages 6 weeks old through Pre-K for the Fall. Petty’s Chapel Baptist Church, 1300 FM 3041, where Elvin Sikes serves as Pastor would like to invite everyone to our worship services.  Petty’s Chapel Baptist Church is located on Old Roane Road a half mile east of I-45.  Sunday worship begins at 8:30 a.m.  There is a short time of fellowship and Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m.  Wednesday night services begin at 6:30 p.m.  We would also like to invite all women to a special time of fellowship and Bible study.  It is held every second and fourth Saturday of each month at 11 a.m. in the fellowship hall.  (Light lunch and childcare will be provided.)

Grief Share, sponsored by Northside Baptist Church, meets from 5 to 7 p.m. each Sunday at the Fellowship Center on Forest Lane (across the street from Northside). This is a special weekly seminar and support group for people who are grieving the death of someone close to them. Each Grief Share session includes a video seminar and group discussion. Grief Share is a non-denominational group and features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. This group is sponsored by people who understand what you are experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time.
