The Navarro County Commissioners Court will spend much of Monday in meetings — starting a 10 a.m. regular county agenda meeting and a 1 p.m. joint session with the city of Corsicana.
In regular session, commissioners will be asked to approve the tax credits and freezes for downtown property owners who made improvements, approve a bridge upgrade, hear reports from the county auditor, and approve some HIDTA grant details.
At 1 p.m., the county and city leaders will meet in a joint workshop to discuss shared services. All of it is in preparation for budget process that local governments go through each summer. The fiscal or budget year begins in October.
The city provides things like library, fire and ambulance service in exchange for funding from the county, but what is an appropriate compensation for those services is an annual question.
The county’s agenda includes a change to the ambulance contract, mostly to redo the contract to make it adhere to the regular fiscal calendar better.
